InForm Adapter

Through the use of standards-based Web Services interfaces, the InForm Adapter module provides a number of integration points that enable extensibility and workflow across the InForm platform and with other third-party software systems. Clinical data, metadata and event information, managed through the InForm solution, can now be used to drive extended processes across multiple business systems. Study data can be exchanged with business systems, transaction systems and homegrown or packaged applications.

The InForm Adapter module provides a set of published Web Services interfaces that enable the secure, and in some instances, bi-directional exchange of data and information with the InForm ITM environment. These Web Services interfaces enable developers and IT staff to extract data via a scheduled process. Alternatively, processes can be dynamically triggered based on dependent events identified in a study.

InForm Adapter Interfaces and Functionality:

  • Operational Data Management (ODM) Export Interface: Delivers InForm meta-data and clinical administration, site, patient, visit, and form data in Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) ODM standard format – eliminating the added work and expense for ODM-compliant mappings and transformations.
  • Discrepancy Interface: Transmits clinical data queries from the InForm solution to other source systems. Capabilities include generating open queries and routing answers between systems.
  • Event Interface: Publishes events that can be used to trigger a routine in an external system. Events include both status changes and data changes when they occur in InForm.
  • Coding Interface: Transmits adverse event, drug, and medical history verbatims from the InForm solution to an external coding application and receives inbound coded values for InForm.
